The Ridgewood Council will terminate Village Manager Ken Gabbert from a job he has held for nearly four years.

By 3-2 vote, Ridgewood’s governing body suspended the embattled Gabbert, adopting a Preliminary Resolution of Removal on Wednesday, stating that the council’s majority “lost confidence in Gabbert’s ability to serve in the capacity of village manager and believed it in the best interest of the Village of Ridgewood that Gabbert be removed from office.”

Gabbert’s suspension is effective Aug. 31, which will also mark his final day in the manager’s office. To formally terminate Gabbert, the council must later adopt a “Final Resolution of Removal.”

  1. Three months pay, $46,250, wasted because the man is a registered Republican and the Mayor doesn’t like Republicans.

  2. The man was fired for no apparent reason. Ridiculous.

  3. How can you fire someone for accepting a raise?

  4. Again, Aronsohn, Puccirelli & Hauck voting together. Again, a very public dressing down of a political adversary. This time they’ve actually succeeded in getting rid of someone that could challenge their personal agendas. I love Mrs. Hauck’s comment that there is “nothing underhanded going on here”. Really?

This is quite scary given the large scale construction projects scheduled for votes in the near future. These 3 want to build a huge hospital and huge apartment buildings and are beyond even attempting to hide their allegiances to the special interest groups with plans before the town. Look for these 3 to vote yes on everything.

Please come to the meetings and speak up. You are the last line of defense.

  5. Without prompting from the other two, can Hauck explain why she believes that this is the right thing to do? Does she have any independent thoughts?

We need to keep Richie and Walsh on the council next year. And as soon as possible vote the other three out.
