Ridgewood NJ, reader asks , “So Josh Gottheimer’s big ‘tax cutting’ campaign pledge was that he would lower corporate tax rates.
This tax bill does exactly that, but Gottheimer did not vote for it? Was he opposed to the middle class tax cuts that were paired to his favored corporate tax cuts? ”
Gottheimer voted no on tax cuts ,these tax cuts will allow North Jersey families to keep more of their money and New Jersey businesses to invest more in the local economy.
During his election readers poked fun , “There is a Gottheimer poster wrapped around the bear by the Franklin Ave underpass that says ‘Lower taxes’
I am still confused about whether that is a legit poster or someone just being sarcastic.”
Typical of the Clinton Machine spawn, maybe it’s time to dub him ‘One Timer’ Gottheimer. GOP has a chance to correct this mistake, but will they get some fresh political talent or try running the tired, good ol’ boys again.
Every candidate that runs on the “:bipartisan cooperation” fiction always ends up voting the party line.

To the original poster, you are really misinformed if you believe this bill will be good for NJ. I could go on and on about how every tax calculator you see online is inaccurate but I have a sense you are pretty stuck in your misinformation campaign.

This bill is bad for NJ but that’s not an indictment of the bill it’s an indictment of the politicians we elect and the state finances we have been complicit in creating. Josh needs to go not because he did or did not vote for this bill but because he can’t bring home the bacon. NJ is a net out flow state yet we just got our heads handed to us because our state costs are too damn high. In 10 years NJ will be populated by those that can’t move, and those that somehow have their snout in the teacher, fireman, policeman, state worker pension trough. Young state pension workers will have to live here and support old state pensioners. That math just won’t add up.
Saw this guy posing with a bunch of school kids. I hope he hits puberty soon. The kids are taller than him.

NJ Democrats don’t seem to get it. People who pay the most in taxes are leaving the state in droves shifting more of our unsustainable tax burden to the middle class who the Dems claim to represent. The numbers don’t lie – guys like this do though.
@2:08 – I am the original poster and I am VERY aware of which NJ residents get hurt by this bill.
These are the same NJ residents that Obama forced a tax hike on in 2010. These are the same NJ residents that NJ Democrats are chomping at the bits to hike taxes on.
These NJ residents are hurt in the new tax bill because NJ Democrats bleed them dry at the state level. Someone earning the same amount in Texas is going to get a net tax cuts.
Repeat after me – these NJ residents are bejng looted by Democrats, such as Josh Gottheimer.
