Waldwick Man Arrested by NJ Transit Police

Waldwick NJ, a quiet Sunday night in Bergen County was shattered by a violent incident at the local train station. New Jersey Transit Police have confirmed the arrest of a Waldwick man following a reported assault involving a weapon at the Waldwick Train Station on the evening of Sunday, November 23rd.

Arrest Made After Late-Night Incident

The incident occurred around 9:15 PM when officers responded to reports of an assault at the train station. According to NJ Transit spokesperson Kyalo Mulumba, the victim was assaulted with a “possible knife.”

Fortunately, the victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and refused medical attention at the scene.

NJ Transit police quickly apprehended the suspect: Jose Iraheta, 30, of Waldwick.

Iraheta faces multiple serious charges, including:

  • Unlawful Possession of a Weapon

  • Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purpose

  • Terroristic Threats

  • Aggravated Assault

NJ Transit Police are leading the investigation, and no further details regarding the incident’s motive or circumstances have been released at this time.
