Lonegan: Cory Booker Is and Would Be an Empty Desk

“Booker has a penchant for being absent when duty calls. Not only is he an absentee property owner, but he is also an absentee mayor. The people of New Jersey have every reason to believe he would be an absentee Senator, if elected.”

MONROE TOWNSHIP, NJ – Mayor Steve Lonegan, the Republican candidate for the United States Senate, held a fundraiser this evening and discussed issues of national importance. Lonegan was also asked about Booker’s newly aired advertisement.

The ad starts out with a scan of a desk clean of papers and Cory Booker’s voiceover saying, “As mayor, I didn’t sit behind a desk….”

“Cory Booker’s new ad got one thing right,” Lonegan said. “If he is elected to the United States Senate, he will be an empty desk. Even as mayor of Newark, he spends his time traveling from coast to coast, peddling his failed policies, at the expense of his city.”

  1. WTF does this blog have such a hard on for Lonegan. There is a reason Cory Booker gets more media attention than Steve Lonegan does.

It is because he’s made himself more relevant.

    1. More “relevant” because Booker was on Oprah or he is a black liberal .. do tel?

  2. Check out Obama’s attendance record when he “served” in the Senate.

    Cory had a good teacher…….

  3. Rob, did you hear the one about the Newark mayor who pulled a damsel in distress out of a burning building?

  4. nj.com has pulled the blogs on related Booker/Lonegan stories because they don’t jive with their pro-Booker agenda.

At 7:45am, I was the 14th voter in my district a twp. with 85,000 people (multiple voting districts). That’s the real problem, laziness. You can be sure the unions will get out for Booker.
