Mahwah – As soon as June 23, the Township Council could propose revising its political sign ordinance to further limit how long political signs may be posted and how quickly they must be removed after an election.
The move followed a request at the council’s June 9 meeting by a resident to post 20 Donald Trump campaign signs on township property.
Ridgewood can have all of the ordinances it wants. It won’t matter, because in RW the rules only apply to some and not to others…
(can you say massive Vagianos political sign in Village Ford and Concrete GFM planters???)
These signs make Ridgewood look like ridgefiield
And studies have consistently shown that the placing of political signs has almost no effect of voting behavior.
Signs should be required to be removed 48 hours after the election, they are nothing but eyesores.
For those of you who are new or have short memories…. There was an effort to clamp down on signs many years ago — It came as soon as the first Stop Valley (or whatever the group was called when they first began) sign went up. Then-Mayor Pfund was behind the clampdown — he was trying to help Valley more than double in size.
It’s June.
The general election is 6 months away.
I just noticed a “josh gottheimer” sign on the lawn of a newby from NYC.
Give me a break.
