Man Hit and killed by Pascack Valley Line Train near Essex Street Station in Hackensack

Hackensack NJ, a man was killed when he was struck by a NJ Transit commuter train near Hackensack’s Essex Street Station.


Paul Milo of NJ Transit said, the victim, a man in his early 20s who has so far not been identified, was hit by a Spring Valley bound train , on the Pascack Valley Line shortly before 3:30 p.m. on Monday,

The incident led the agency to suspend service on the Pascack Valley Line between New Bridge Landing and Essex Street for about an hour.

At about 5:15 p.m., NJ Transit tweeted that service had resumed in both directions with 45-minute delays.

  1. Fortunately most people are working from home so any delays were of no consequence.
    We piss away millions on lights, gates, horns etc and people still find a way to get hit in their cars at crossings or walk on the tracks, whether by accident or purposely.
    Now the engineer has to live with this, despite it not being his fault
