Ridgewood NJ, according to NJ Transit one person was fatally struck in Paterson by a Suffern bound Main Line train during the early hours of Saturday near Market Street Bridge in Paterson.
At about 2:18 a.m., the train hit the unidentified male, just west of the Paterson train station, said NJ Transit spokesperson Lisa Orrick. About 35 passengers and crew were on board. No injuries were reported on the train.
Orrick said the Main Line train departed from Hoboken at 1:32 a.m. and was expected to arrive in Suffern, New York, at 2:41 a.m. The Main Line train stops in Hawthorne, Glen Rock, Ridgewood, Ho Ho Kus, Waldwick , Allendale, Ramsey , Ramsey Route 17, Mahwah, and Suffern.
Paterson Police Department units reported to the scene along with emergency service units. The NJ Transit Police Department is investigating the incident.
