Code Ninjas of Midland Park offers ongoing after school learning opportunities. The Center is open on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays for “In-Center” learning. Our curriculum program provides two hours of hands-on coding and learning per week for children ages 7 to 14. In addition to Center hours, we offer ‘at-home’ on-line access to our leading edge computer programming curriculum for children. January 18th, Martin Luther King Day Scratch-Minecraft Coding Workshop
The coding Center will be hosting 3 one-hour workshops on that day. Workshops will be held at 10:00am, 11:30am and 1:00pm. The coding workshops are appropriate for children ages 7 to 10 years old. Children will experience creative and analytical challenges and opportunities. They will build, mod and create ‘Minecraft’ like games in Scratch. Children will be able to choose their own characters and actions inside the games. These are coding projects where the children will learn to control and manipulate characters and actions.
They will learn the fundamentals of computer programming, specifically looping, condition statements and variables. Workshops are appropriate for children with no experience in coding and for children with experience in coding. Children will learn to ‘level-up’ in their games, keep score, move, spin, and size custom characters. They will also learn how to have characters interact with each other.
Workshops are designed to be entertaining, fun and educational. Foster the creative mind and let us teach your child to be a ‘digital producer’, as opposed to a digital consumer.
