The facts speak for themselves once you get past the hysteria.

Do your homework: Each Wal-Mart superstore can employee several hundred (or more) employees, Save Jerseyans, depending upon its size. These stores provide employment opportunities and affordable goods particularly in areas where the population is struggling and/or lacks sufficient levels of education or skilled training. It’s a win-win for the local community and the overall economy.

  1. The decision by Walmart to go have nothing to do with the snakes. They were allowed to relocate them and build with no problem. Except the building was too large to meet current requirements in Toms River. Nothing more than a planning issue here try to get the facts straight and not sensationalize an issue

  2. Read the article. Walmart was shot down because the building was too big and Tom’s.River would not approve it. Snakes and environmentalists.lost their court case……Amber’s.for Tom’s.River won and now that the building needs to be a reasonable size, Freddy Walmart is bolting. If Walmart face a damn about NJ residents, they could have reduced the size of their building, built it and hired hundreds of people. Walmart chose not to.

  3. With regard to jobs, You’re ignoring the fact that when Walmart moves in, local businesses close, costing jobs.

  4. 952… well said…. Sam Walton is spinning in his grave… WalMarts have destroyed local businesses and when things were not too rosy return wise (like 15% roi), closed stores where they laid waste to leave locals with nothing. While sam W pushed buy American, his spawn have gutted US blue collar jobs while making Bentonville a “cultural” destination.
