Paramus NJ, as previously reported, Coach USA filed for voluntary Chapter 11 Bankruptcy back in June.
The Paramus-based operator of Megabus, Coach Canada, Dilon’s Bus Co., Go Can Galder, and other bus brands has announced key asset purchase agreements as part of its court-supervised sale processes. These steps are aimed at preserving jobs and ensuring continuous passenger transportation services across the U.S. and Canada.
Derrick Waters, CEO of Coach USA said , “As we move through this process, our top priority remains safely carrying the millions of passengers who choose our buses each year and working closely with our valued contract customers and transportation agency partners. We appreciate the dedication of our employees to operating with safety as a priority and serving our customers and our communities .”
In June Megabus filed a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) notice with the Pennsylvania Department of Labor.
The Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act is federal legislation that offers protection to workers, their families and communities by requiring employers to provide notice 60 days in advance of a covered-business closing and covered-business mass layoff.
This appears to indicate the shutting down of Megabus routes to Pittsburgh and Philadelphia.
