Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, A fast and coordinated response by local emergency services prevented severe disaster late Sunday evening when a residential fire broke out in Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey.
At approximately 11:20 PM, the Ho-Ho-Kus Volunteer Fire Department (HHKFD) was dispatched following a 9-1-1 emergency call reporting a working residential structure fire on Stone Ridge Lane.
Rapid Fire Extension Threatens Attic
Upon arriving at the scene, first-due units encountered an active fire along the exterior of the house. Flames were quickly creeping upward and extending into the home’s attic space via an exterior vent, threatening severe structure damage.
Recognizing the potential for rapid fire spread, Command immediately upgraded the incident to a working fire assignment, summoning critical mutual aid resources to the scene.
Aggressive Attack Halts Spread
Firefighters from Engine 733 acted decisively, stretching two handlines into position:

Line 1: Deployed outside to knock down the main body of the exterior fire.

Line 2: Advanced into the attic space to intercept and extinguish flames spreading inside.
Thanks to this aggressive, well-coordinated interior and exterior attack, crews successfully contained the blaze, limiting major damage to the exterior wall with only minor fire extension into the attic area.
Safety Update: Authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported among residents or emergency personnel.
