Montvale Contractor Charged in Sexual Assault of a Minor

Montvale NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of KENNETH MACPHERSON (DOB: 8/01/1962; divorced; contractor) of 7 Sweeney Court, Montvale, New Jersey on sexual assault and child endangerment charges. The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Montvale Police Department under the direction of Chief Joseph Sanfilippo.

On Tuesday, July 7, 2020, the Montvale Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding an allegation of a sexual assault of a minor by KENNETH MACPHERSON. An investigation was initiated by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Montvale Police Department. During the investigation, it was learned that MACPHERSON sexually assaulted the minor at a residence in Montvale, New Jersey in the past. An additional minor victim was identified who also was sexually assaulted by MACPHERSON in both Montvale and Hillsdale, New Jersey.

As a result of the investigation, on Friday, July 16, 2021, KENNETH MACPHERSON was arrested and charged with three counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2a(2)(b); one count of second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor, N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(1); and one count of third-degree endangering the welfare of a minor, N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(1). MACPHERSON was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court.

Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and thanks the Montvale Police Department for their assistance in the investigation.

  1. Does anyone know if he went to court yet? Did he take a plea? Bc he did this to more than just the victims that have so far come forward. I think of those girls often & hope they get Justice so they may heal & move forward.
