Ridgewood NJ, a routine move turned into a dramatic scene late Saturday night (May 24) in the Village, when a 30-foot moving van became stuck while attempting to back out of a steep driveway on the 100 block of Crest Road.
According to the Ridgewood Police Department (RPD), the crash occurred around 9:05 PM and was first reported by a local resident who was out walking their dog. The resident noticed the large vehicle stranded in the roadway and promptly contacted authorities.
The Ridgewood Police Patrol Division responded swiftly and issued two summonses in connection with the incident. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Due to the size and position of the stuck vehicle, a medium-duty tow truck and two tow truck operators were called in to assist. They successfully extricated the truck from its precarious position. Despite the setback, it’s believed that the home’s new occupants had completed their move-in process before the situation was resolved.
This incident serves as a reminder of the challenges posed by Ridgewood’s hilly terrain, particularly for large moving vehicles.
