Multiple Police Agencies Respond to Threat at Congressman Josh Gottheimer’s Glen Rock Office

Glen Rock NJ, on Thursday July 15th at 9:26 AM ,Glen Rock Police report that the staff at Congressman Josh Gottheimer’s Glen Rock office received a phone call informing them that a man who had the potential to become violent was on the way to their office.  Additional information was developed that the man was aggrieved over the lack of responsiveness he felt he was receiving from various governmental agencies in response to a complaint he had made.  He was coming to the congressman’s office to seek his assistance and informed an associate that they should call the police as he did not know what he was going to do if the congressman could not help him, alluding to potential violence.

The subject was subsequently located with the assistance of the Oakland Police Department. Officers found that the man showed signs of being in psychiatric distress and called for a psychiatric screener from 262-HELP.  Following the screening he was transported without incident to Bergen New Bridge Medical Center in Paramus for further assistance. No criminal charges are anticipated.

Also assisting on scene were the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department and the Bergen County Regional SWAT Patrol.  Investigative assistance was provided by the US Capitol Police and NJ State Police.

  2. The SWAT team should arrest Josh for stealing from our children and grandchildren.
    This is the greatest generational theft in the history of the world.
