Stolen Unlocked Car in Glen Rock Located in Paterson

Glen Rock NJ, on Monday July 12th at  05:48 AM a Southboro Lane resident reported to Glen Rock Police that their 2013 Honda Civic had been stolen from their driveway overnight. The vehicle had been left unlocked with the keys in it. The resident also reported that $9,000 worth of golf equipment and a laptop computer in the vehicle along with $218,000 worth of orthopedic instruments and implants associated with the resident’s employment, had been in the vehicle when it was taken.

The vehicle was located on the morning of July 14 by the Paterson Police Department in the parking lot of a business on the 300 block of Broadway. Through investigation and the use of video surveillance footage recovered in Paterson, D/Sgt James Calaski identified a 39-year-old Glen Rock man as operating the stolen vehicle.

With the assistance of P.O. Nick Onove, D/Sgt Calaski located the man in the parking lot of American Fried Chicken on Broadway in Paterson and placed him under arrest.  He was transported back to Glen Rock Police Headquarters where he was processed and charged with receiving stolen property.  He was subsequently lodged in the Bergen County jail pending an appearance before Central Judicial Processing at the Superior Court in Hackensack.

An inventory of the property recovered inside the vehicle, by the owner, is pending.

  1. I wonder if the inventory showed $9,000 worth of golf equipment and $218,000 worth of orthopedic equipment? Leaving keys in the car showed the owners IQ.
