Trenton NJ, the Murphy administration is once again rocked by aa hiring scandal . Jeffrey Dye, the Murphy administration staffer who wrote anti-Semitic and other inflammatory posts on social media, is out of a job.Dye, who is head of the city of Passaic‘s chapter of the NAACP, had been a $58,000 a year business representative at the Department of Labor & Workforce Development since February. But Angela Delli Santi, a spokeswoman for the department, said in a terse one-line statement Tuesday afternoon that’s no longer the case.

Murphy came under harsh criticism from Assemblyman Robert Auth who called for the resignation of a state labor department representative, appointed by Gov. Phil Murphy, following his divisive social media posts. Jeffrey Dye, who also serves as the president of the Passaic NAACP, is facing criticism for his anti-Semitic and anti-Latino comments on Facebook.

Auth said ,“The dangerous and divisive comments by Jeffrey Dye are appalling,” said Auth (R-Bergen). “He is certainly not fit for service in this state or anywhere else for that matter. He should immediately resign. I’m shocked the governor ignored the advice of respected Assemblyman Gary Shaer who told him not to give him a job. It isn’t often I find myself agreeing with the assemblyman, but on this I agree with him 100 percent.”

Auth’s statements were quickly followed by NJGOP Chairman Doug Steinhardt ,”Governor Murphy is cultivating a culture of blind indifference inside his Executive Administration. His appointees have included convicted bribe takers, alleged rapists, and now admitted bigots. And while the Governor came forward, eventually and begrudgingly, and acknowledged his failures for the likes of Marcellus Jackson, Al Alvarez and Lizette Delgado Polanco, he’s remained disconcertingly quiet on his hiring of Jeffrey Dye, whose anti-Semitic and anti-Hispanic rants were uncovered Monday by the Globe. In fact, it was the Department of Labor that stepped up and fired Dye, since Murphy took no action and made no statement. That’s not leadership. Governor Murphy preaches progressivism but his Administration practices prejudice.”

Hudson County GOP Chairman Jose Arango also called on Governor Murphy to break his silence on his appointee, “Governor Murphy’s silence on his employee’s racist, anti-hispanic social media posts is completely unacceptable. New Jersey deserves a leader who will stand up to racism even when it is politically inconvenient. Right now, the Hispanic community is calling for Governor Murphy to finally show some leadership abilities.”
