Ridgewood NJ, a bill moving through the state Legislature, known as the Responsible Dog Ownership Act, was created partly in response to a deadly dog attack in Carteret earlier this year.
A 3-year-old boy was killed in the March 17 attack. Two pit bulls mauled the boy and were subsequently euthanized.

The bill would require that owners have fencing for large dogs and it imposes leash laws to ensure that dogs are never allowed to run free. The bill also sets up serious penalties for dog owners if their pets injure someone or take a life, including reckless homicide and aggravated assault.

  1. I”M no fan of pitbulls… but this should be applicable to all sizes.
When I walk my well mannered dog, it seems the little yappers are growling and agressive more than the big dogs. Maybe a napoleon complex but If they come near my dog ill drop kick them like a football across the street.

  2. No cash bail for the vermin among us, but increased regulations for dogs.
    That makes sense.

  3. How about banning large humans with assault weapons?

  4. It’s usually low socioeconomic people with “something to prove” who own pit bulls. As a breed, they’re pretty useless. I was referring to the canine, not the human.

  5. Nice people have nice dogs
Notice the increase in aggressive dogs.
If the owner is an asshole, the dog is an asshole.

  6. How about banning Large mouthed humans with small brains…

    I’m lookin’ at you AOC….
