ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — If you’re a New Jersey student who was born a female but who identifies as a male, are you allowed to use the boys’ bathroom? Or if you were born a male but identify as a female, can you play girls’ softball? These are some of the questions that a North Jersey school community hopes to address at an upcoming public forum.

Bloomfield public school administrators plan to host a “Transgender Symposium” at the high school on Wednesday, May 3. According to administrators, the free, public forum will help the community understand the changes that will come with the rollout of the district’s official transgender policy, which the Board of Education adopted last year.

  1. Really? The board of Ed “adopted” last year?
When was the vote on that?
Why was it done behind closed doors?
No matter what the board says or thinks you CANNOT change your genetic makeup . End of story. You can put your liberal spin on this three ways to Sunday but in the end you can’t fool Mother Nature. If a boy who thinks he’s a girl steps one foot in the bathroom while my daughter is in there “it” will have a man to answer to. It won’t be pretty.

  2. They look hot

  3. 5:57 – You’re such a “man” hiding behind your name “Anonymous”. North Carolina is waiting for you……… The article mentions nothing about Ridgewood. Read it if you can.

  4. What is with the accompanying picture? Those are DRAG QUEENS, i.e. men who put on exaggerated female personas for entertainment purposes. They’re characters. It’s performance. Transgender persons are real-life people who go about their daily lives as a gender different from that of their birth; it’s not performance. The difference may seem minor but continuing to equate drag with transgenderism is just inaccurate and enforces dangerous misconceptions. It betrays a particular kind of glib ignorance.

  5. Transgender is just as valid as transrace or transspecies

  6. The photo is of Drag which is a performance art. Transgender has nothing to do with drag.

Too much hate on this blog. We are all just trying to get through life the best we can.

    1. whats “hate” showing a pic from a popular TV show ?

  7. James, the picture is irrelevant to the topic. None of the individuals pictured identify as transgender. They’re men. A quick Google search is all it takes.
