Trenton NJ, New Jersey State Policeman’s Benevolent Association President Pat Colligan today sent a letter to U.S. Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ), criticizing him over a Tweet that the junior senator issued in response to the police killing of Ma’Khia Bryant.
Senator Booker, who is chairman of the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Criminal Justice and Counterterrorism’s first hearing – “Behavioral Health and Policing: Interactions and Solutions” – yesterday issued the following Tweet in response to a Columbus, Ohio police killing of Ma’Khia Bryant:
“Ma’Khia Bryant was only 16 years old—killed by police yesterday. She deserves justice and accountability. We must reform this deeply broken system. My heart is with Ma’Khia’s loved ones.”
Booker like LeBron James promotes a politically divisive narrative by tweeting before thinking.
Colligan’s ,letter to Senator Booker refers to a meeting he had with the senator, expresses his disappointment.
“I do not know if you compose your own Tweets but your statement that Ma’Khia Bryant was ‘killed’ by police and that reform is needed for a ‘deeply broken system’ oversimplifies the matter and presents a dangerous narrative to the ‘Defund the Police’ movement that police officers are never right, even when they take a life to save a life,’ Colligan wrote. “Yes, it is tragic any time a police officer must use deadly force. But no officer answers a call hoping to take a life.”
Colligan said the video clearly shows an officer attempting to use a deadly weapon against another individual.
“I implore you to distinguish between blatant violations of the public trust, as we saw in George Floyd, and the unfortunate but proper action taken in Columbus. There is a major difference,” Colligan argued.
The police would get far more traction on these issues if police unions would stop supporting and endorsing Democrats. The Democrat party has clearly moved into the defund the police column and is only interested in using the police to advance that agenda.
Cory is a fraud
spartacus grew up in harrington park, and carpet-bagged it to newark and got voted in because he was black. period.
He’s a phony. the city is a shit hole. the crime is rampant. he failed and bailed to dc thanks to the stupid voters in NJ who vote for any democrat.
Ask him about his fake friend ‘t-bone’
I grew up in HP, he was fat and shy growing up then became athletic in HS. Played football for Stanford but could’ve run track there as well.
Here, Fixed that fer ya:
Cory is a
fraudtextbook DemocratCorey was viewed as the next Obama and got fast-tracked to DC, despite his appalling record in Newark. His stage-managed running-into-burning-buildings nonsense got him national press. Oprah featured and gave him his national attention. What a phony. Totally failed in his Presidential run. It’s absolutely ridiculous that his Newark predecessor, Sharpe Mugabe James, had a better record as Mayor than Booker.
Don’t pick on Spartacus.
Pick on his voters.
