Secaucus NJ, During the early morning hours of 08/19/20, NJTPD officers responded to a report of a conductor assaulted at Secaucus Junction Station. The officers apprehended a subject who allegedly struck a conductor in the face with a closed fist. This subject now faces multiple charges including Aggravated Assault, Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest.
Please remember: NJ TRANSIT bus operators and train crews are protected employees under the laws of the State of New Jersey. Any assault upon them carries a prison term of up to 5 years and fines of up to $15,000 dollars. The New Jersey Transit Police Department is committed to protecting NJ TRANSIT employees and customers and will seek to prosecute assailants to the fullest extent of the law.
