Newark NJ,Earlier this week, New Jersey Transit Police Officers effected arrests for aggravated assault against NJ TRANSIT train conductors during separate incidences and at different locations. Both incidences resulted in quick responses by NJTPD officers followed by the arrests of the actors responsible. Please remember:
NJ Transit bus operators and train crews are protected employees under the laws of the State of New Jersey. Any assault upon them carries a prison term of up to 5 years and fines of up to $15,000 dollars.
We remain committed to protecting all NJ TRANSIT employees and customers and will seek to prosecute assailants to the fullest extent of the law.
