The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love.

On Thursday, September 15, 2022, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at the residence of SHABOO WILLIAMS during the course of a months-long Internet child sexual abuse material investigation. The investigation revealed that WILLIAMS used the Internet to view, download, possess, and distribute items depicting nude and/or sexually explicit prepubescent children.
As a result of the investigation, SHABOO WILLIAMS was arrested on Thursday, September 15, 2022 in New Milford, NJ and charged with second-degree distribution of child pornography, N.J.S.A 2C:24-4b(5)(a)(i); and third-degree possession of child pornography, N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4b(5)(b)(iii). WILLIAMS was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Prosecutor Musella thanks the New Milford Police Department for their assistance, as well as the Englewood Police Department and Bergen County Sheriff’s Department, which participate in the Bergen County Cyber Crimes Task Force.
