RIDGEWOOD, NJ — A fresh dining destination has arrived in downtown Ridgewood. Chorn Thong Thai Restaurant, located at 2 E Ridgewood Avenue, is now open and serving up authentic Southern Thai cuisine with a focus on homemade flavors rarely found elsewhere in Bergen County.

Owner-operated and BYOB, Thong Thai was launched by a hospitality veteran with over a decade of Thai restaurant experience—from the kitchen to front-of-house operations. The goal? To bring “something different than your typical Thai restaurant” to the Ridgewood food scene.

What’s on the Menu?

Thong Thai offers a blend of classic Thai staples and regional specialties that set it apart:

  • Pad Thai & Fried Rice favorites

  • Southern Thai recipes passed down through generations

  • Unique dishes not commonly seen in other Bergen County Thai spots

The restaurant prides itself on using fresh ingredients and traditional methods to deliver both comfort food and bold, adventurous flavors.

Cozy Dining in Downtown Ridgewood

The restaurant’s 1,000+ square-foot space seats about 32 guests indoors with an additional 10–12 seats outside for warm-weather dining. The intimate setting is run by a small but experienced culinary team boasting over 20 years in the NYC restaurant scene.

Open Six Days a Week

Thong Thai welcomes guests Tuesday through Sunday (closed Mondays). Whether you’re craving a casual night out, a BYOB dinner with friends, or an authentic taste of Thailand, the new spot promises to be a must-try addition to Ridgewood’s dining scene.

  1. Geesh…How many more restaurants does the village need? VOR now stands for village of restaurants

    1. How many would make you happy?

    2. Don’t fret — it’s the third (?) Thai restaurant in that location in recent memory, so it probably won’t last long. Also, looks like Parisa East just closed. Hopefully we can go back to complaining about all the empty storefronts soon.

    1. I opened a retail shop in Ridgewood about 15 years ago. I didn’t have enough business to even cover my costs. Restaurants are about the only viable business in Ridgewood any more and will continue to be so unless people start shopping local instead of at the malls and Amazon.
