NJ TRANSIT Adopt-a-Station Program

Ridgewood NJ,  NJ TRANSIT and American Express invite community organizations to adopt their local station and make it a neighborhood showcase by planting flowers, doing light landscaping and maintenance, or just cleaning up. Community organizations across New Jersey are adopting stations and keeping them beautiful because they recognize how vital and central they are to their community!

This is an excellent opportunity for local organizations such as schools, Scouts, civic groups, and local businesses! It’s also a great way to demonstrate skills learned from community organizations such as local horticultural groups or garden clubs!

You can make your station the pride of your community, work and learn with new friends, and feel great about your contributions by joining Adopt-a-Station!

As part of the program, NJ TRANSIT and American Express provide supplies such as safety vests, gloves, and trash bags!

Reasons To Participate:

• Enhance the appearance and safety of your local station.
• Showcase your creativity and skills.
• Receive recognition and appreciation from NJ TRANSIT and the community.
• Have fun and make new friends!

Volunteers Can Participate in the Following Ways:

• Station clean-up three to four times a year.
• Provide light landscaping and maintenance.
• Plant/care for flowers, small trees, and shrubs.
• Arrange a concert series or entertainment by local community groups.
• New ideas are always welcomed!

What NJ TRANSIT Can Do for You and Your Group:

• Provide trash bags and dispose of all trash collected.
• Provide directional support as needed.
• Provide safety vests and gloves for all volunteers.
• Promote your great work on NJ TRANSIT social media to our 400,000+ followers!

How to Sign Up:

Signing up is super easy and takes only a few minutes to complete! Simply download our application form HERE and fill out the following information:

• Group Name
• Address
• Phone
• Contact Person
• First Station Choice/Second Station Choice
• Two Yes/No Checkboxes
• Number of Times Per Year You Plan to Conduct Activity
• Comment Section
