These public workers, including teachers, city clerks, and public figures, have been accused of stealing and scamming state money. In many cases, that feat became possible when individuals obtained sole access to accounts holding public funds.

Some have been sentenced to probation or time behind bars, while others’ cases remain active. Below are 15 incidents in which workers were accused of theft.
