These public workers, including teachers, city clerks, and public figures, have been accused of stealing and scamming state money. In many cases, that feat became possible when individuals obtained sole access to accounts holding public funds.
Some have been sentenced to probation or time behind bars, while others’ cases remain active. Below are 15 incidents in which workers were accused of theft.
These are just the ones who got caught. How many more got away with it?

Interesting array/divergence of amounts stolen and sentences imposed – some slapped on the wrist for stealing a fortune, others jailed for years for stealing a loaf of bread??!!
