Fair Lawn NJ, Fair Lawn Police, Fair Lawn Fire Company #1, Fair Lawn OEM, Fair Lawn DPW, NJ Transit Police ESU, and NJDEP Division of Fish & Wildlife personnel all joined forces on Monday afternoon, 09/28, to capture a 70 pound female bear cub that treed itself at NJ Transit’s Radburn passenger rail station on Pollitt Drive in Fair Lawn. The cub was captured unharmed, medically checked and tagged by NJDEP staff, and placed in a specially equipped truck for transport to a undisclosed location for release into the wild. Dozens of bystanders watched from a nearby shopping center parking lot, and the eastbound Radburn train station platform, as the capture was executed.
