Reader says Saudinio was a “greedy, bigoted, snobby, self-styled elitist “

buford_t_justice

For Saudinio, as a prominant Caucasian, to be as comfortable as he is in singling out and speaking down to, quote-unquote, “the blacks”. For Saudino to allow the natural independence afforded by his unique pre-constituional office to lead his tongue publicly to suggest that the new AG’s minority religion and concomitant garb (the turban) are the reasons he was elevated to that office by the new Governor. For Saudino to go further and give himself license to take a cheap shot another’s moral shortcomings (another officeholder’s apparent problems with same-sex attraction). These all mark Saudino as a self-satisfied majoritarian jerk. Saudino has already proudly shown himself to be without any identifiable political principles by switching midstream to the Democrat party, which, as everyone knows, only really cares about one thing–political power. Finally, his attention to self-interest is unsurpassed among state officeholders in New Jersey. NOTHING was going to interrupt the master bed-feathering class Saudino’s been teaching lo these many years.
.
What a greedy, bigoted, snobby, self-styled elitist this guy is–right at home, one might add, with his new friends. Let it be said without fear of contradiction: “Saudino and the Democrats: Perfect Together.”

Bergen GOP to Run DOC, FBI Alum Against “Double Dipper” Saudino for Sheriff

Bergen County Sheriff Michael Saudino

“Double Dipper” Saudino for Sheriff

By Alyana Alfaro | 02/29/16 3:41pm

Alfonso is running for sheriff in Bergen County.

Manuel Alfonso of Cresskill announced at Thursday’s Bergen County Republican Organization (BCRO) Lincoln Dinner that he is pursuing the nomination for sheriff.

Alfonso’s entrance into the race follows current Sheriff Michael Saudino’s party switch. The former Republican announced in January that he would be pursuing reelection as a Democrat. That departure left Bergen’s Republican Party scrambling in an effort to fill Saudino’s spot on the ballot. Enter Alfonso, a 26-year Department of Corrections and law enforcement veteran who also on an FBI joint terrorism task force for five years.

Though Alfonso has not been involved in politics or run for office before, he says he is excited to enter the fray.

“What made me decide was I was tired of sitting down and complaining and seeing a level of mismanagement that is unwarranted and unneeded and no one doing anything about it,” Alfonso said. “I decided to put myself in the mix and do something about it. I decided to do some research and I was dumbfounded. I come from a department that is significantly bigger and I can’t justify those expenses, especially the overtime budget.”

Ferguson, Mo., crisis echoes in Bergen County debate

What had been a local debate over the use of surplus military armored vehicles for law enforcement in Bergen County intensified Thursday when U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder criticized the use of similar equipment to quell looting and civil unrest in Ferguson, Mo.

Holder issued a statement that condemned the violence by both civilians and police in the aftermath of the fatal shooting Saturday of an unarmed black 18-year-old by a white police officer. He also questioned the use of military vehicles that Ferguson police obtained through a federal program.

“At a time when we must seek to rebuild trust between law enforcement and the local community, I am deeply concerned that the deployment of military equipment and vehicles sends a conflicting message,” Holder stated. “At my direction, Department officials have conveyed these concerns to local authorities.”

His remarks drew immediate parallels to the debate now raging in Bergen County, where the Sheriff’s office has moved to obtain two MRAPs – “mine-resistant ambush protected vehicles” – through a U.S. Department of Defense program that has distributed some 600 of the vehicles to law enforcement agencies around the country in the past year.

The issue also has become a major factor in Bergen political races this year, including County Executive Kathleen Donovan’s bid for re-election.

Donovan has questioned the move by Bergen Sheriff Michael Saudino, a fellow Republican, to acquire the vehicles, saying that it unnecessarily “militarizes” police operations in Bergen County.
