‘Our Country’s Going to Hell’: Trump Says People Are Tired of Incompetent Politicians

Trump_hat_boarder-theridgewoodblog

On “Hannity” tonight, Donald Trump said he’s disappointed with our country’s leaders, particularly President Obama, who he called the worst president in the history of the U.S.

Trump said that Obama has been a disaster for the country, pointing to the nuclear agreement with Iran as a recent example of the president’s failures.

Trump added that Obama is just like most politicians: All talk and no action.

Trump said that his anti-politician message is resonating with Americans, and that’s why he’s currently leading in the polls.

“People are tired of incompetent politicians running our country,” Trump said. “When they see a deal like the Iran nuclear deal, when they see how badly our veterans are taken care of, they’re just sick and tired of it.”

Trump added that many people are asking him to run as an independent, but he doesn’t see why he would do that when he’s the leading Republican in the polls.

Trump’s wild N.J. ride: 30 years of grand promises, successes and setbacks

THE RECORD

Donald Trump, a lifelong New Yorker, has been on a 30-year mission to blanket New Jersey with his self-named businesses. It’s a story that has been perplexing and awe-inspiring, infuriating and romantic — sometimes all at once.

What began in the 1980s with a few casinos in Atlantic City soon became a grand tour in which Trump registered 41 businesses in the state; submitted plans for a massive golf community in southern Bergen County and a mega-mall in Paramus; came up with four different ideas for Trump amusement parks; hosted Mike Tyson boxing matches and concerts by Bob Dylan and Michael Jackson; ferried passengers to his casinos on his own airline; and developed three golf courses.

The golf courses were huge successes. And the casinos had a solid run in the 1980s and the early 1990s. But there was also the wreckage: plans that went nowhere, casinos that faltered, deals that fell through and developments that were rejected by state officials.

Donald Trump makes a Texas-size splash with visit to Mexican border

donald-trump-plane_boarder_trip6b

By James Hohmann July 23 at 8:05 PM

LAREDO, Tex. — A defiant Donald Trump, visiting the U.S. border with Mexico here Thursday, said again that he will not apologize for his hard-line rhetoric on illegal immigration or back away from his plan to build a wall between the two nations.

During a whirlwind visit — it was less than three hours from when his jet touched down to when it took off — Trump blazed around in a presidential-style motorcade that included seven SUVs and even more police cars. Local officers blocked off roads, including Interstate 35, for Trump’s entourage.

The Republican presidential candidate, leading the GOP field in national polls but increasingly under fire from the establishment wing of his party, said repeatedly that he had been told he would be in “great danger” if he visited this town of 236,000 in southern Texas — even though Laredo, which is roughly 96 percent Hispanic, has a significantly lower murder rate than Trump’s home town of New York City. He would not say who had told him that he was at risk.

Trump to Anderson Cooper During Interview: “The People Don’t Trust You And The Media”

Trump_andersoncooper_theridgwoodblog

In an interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper that was broadcasted tonight Republican candidate for president Donald Trump berated the reporter for continuing to address polls that shed him in a negative light instead of polls showing his upper-tier status.

“I am leading across the board,” Trump said in the interview. “And then you hit me with this poll that I didn’t see before, where oh, gee, it’s not even that kind of a poll. All i know is I have a very big group of support. And I think one of the reasons.”

“Let me tell you. The people don’t trust you and the people don’t trust the media. And I understand why,” Trump lectured Cooper.

Trump also said the American dream is “dead,” but he will revive it and “make it bigger, better and stronger than ever before.”

“You know I tell the story, the American dream — I talk about the American dream in speeches,” Ttump said. “The American dream is dead but I’m going to make it bigger, better and stronger than ever before. The American dream is dead. But i’m going to make it bigger, stronger. Right. And I go ‘boom!’ and I do it with great bravado and the audience goes crazy. ”

Fact Check: The Washington Post on Donald Trump and John McCain

The Celebrity Apprentice

SHARYL ATTKISSON

Donald Trump appears to have gotten under the skin of not only Democrats, but also fellow Republicans and the news media. Has that subjected Trump, a Republican presidential candidate, to unfair and/or inaccurate reporting?

An article in the Washington Post today is headlined, “Trump slams McCain for being ‘captured’ in Vietnam.”

The article’s lead sentence states, “Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump slammed Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), a decorated Vietnam War veteran, on Saturday by saying McCain was not a war hero because he was captured by the North Vietnamese [emphasis added].”

Is this report accurate?

In fact, Trump’s actual quote is the opposite of what is presented in the Post’s first sentence.

Discussion

1. The Post did not provide context at the outset disclosing that McCain and Trump have been feuding, with McCain characterizing some Trump supporters as “crazies” and Trump stating that McCain graduated last in his class in Annapolis. The charged rhetoric continued at the conservative Family Leadership Summit in Ames, Iowa this weekend.

2. When a panelist characterized McCain as a “war hero,” the Post is accurate in reporting that Trump initially said McCain is “not a war hero.” But then, Trump immediately modified his statement saying– four times– that McCain is a war hero:

“He is a war hero.”

“He’s a war hero because he was captured.”

“He’s a war hero, because he was captured.”

“I believe, perhaps, he’s a war hero. But right now, he’s said some very bad things about a lot of people.”

3. Did Trump say McCain is not a war hero because he was captured? No, not in the exchanges represented in the Post.

4. Is the Post’s characterization an accident? It would appear not, because it is repeated in the Post’s caption of the video clip, which also states: “Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), a decorated Vietnam war veteran, was not a war hero because he was captured by the North Vietnamese [emphasis added].”

Further, in the Post’s second sentence, Trump is quoted as stating of McCain, “He’s not a war hero…He’s a war hero because he was captured,” but the article selectively left out the phrase Trump had uttered in between: “He is a war hero.”

Conclusion

Trump actually said the opposite of what the Post lead sentence and video caption claim. The Post might have been able to get away stating that Trump “implied” McCain was not a war hero because McCain was captured, but even that would have been a subjective interpretation since Trump had actually stated the opposite.

It’s true that Trump stated one time that McCain is not a war hero. But Trump stated four times that McCain is a war hero–and that was not accurately characterized in the article.

Donald Trump rips John McCain and calls him a ‘dummy’ Demands and apology and We do too

John-McCain

John McCain still crazy after all these years

Fool on the Hill?

No fool like and old fool:  John McCain needs to do as he is so fond of telling others to “shutup” apologize and retire

COLIN CAMPBELL IN 6 HOURS

Real-estate developer Donald Trump is furious at Sen. John McCain (R-Arizona) for dismissing the supporters of his presidential campaign.

McCain, the Republican Party’s 2008 presidential nominee, was quotedin a Thursday article in The New Yorker criticising Trump’s heated rhetoric against illegal immigration.

The senator also said Trump’s big rally last weekend in Phoenix, Arizona, was supported by the “crazies” in his state.

“This performance with our friend out in Phoenix is very hurtful to me,” McCain said. “Because what he did was he fired up the crazies.”

Trump responded on Twitter by blasting McCain and demanding an apology:

Trump: ‘Corrupt’ Mexican Officials Let Drug Kingpin Escape

drug-lord-el-chapo-prison-escape-theridgewoodblog

Trump: The U.S. will invite El Chapo, the Mexican drug lord who just escaped prison, to become a U.S. citizen because our “leaders” can’t say no!

By Greg Richter   |   Sunday, 12 Jul 2015 07:16 PM

Donald Trump on Sunday blasted “corrupt Mexican officials” for letting a notorious drug kingpin escape from a maximum security prison.

Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman escaped the prison by riding a motorcycle through a mile-long tunnel that was connected to the shower area of Guzman’s cell. It is his second escape, and prison employees are being questioned.
Editor’s Note: Do You Approve of Obama’s Job Performance? Vote Here Now.
Trump noted that the last time Guzman escaped he was free for 13 years.

“He has been selling drugs in the U.S. big-time – a major kingpin,” he said in a statement sent to the media.

“He is possibly in the U.S. and his drugs and drug dealers freely cross into the United States through our pathetic border,” Trump said. “This is just one example of the many instances of Mexico taking advantage of the United States. They take our country’s money but leave the tremendous crime, much of which is a result of the rampant drug trafficking.”

No Donald Trump is no Libertarian , no conservative and no liberal . Donald Trump is a REAL New Yorker

-donald-trump-candidacy-speech-thridgewoodblog

July 13,2015

Pj Blogger
Ridgewood NJ, Trump has taken the political spectrum by storm ,with his straight talking , often rambling can do common sense style . He has managed to tap into the anger at the political process that leaves most Americans feeling totally disenfranchised and disheartened. For many it seems their own government continues to attack them and the very culture that made this nation great . They the great american middle class have become the enemy ,with virtually every move coming out of Washington perceived as an effort to undermine traditional american values, of hard work, common sense and fair play .The electorate feels powerless as DC peruses a coarse self destruction selling out country . Be it Obamacare which voters opposed , nuke deals with Iran , sanctuary cities , amnesty ,or jamming social policy down everyone’s throats there is a general unease with the direction of things. While skepticism has been meet with cat calls of,racist ,bigot, homophobe or ridiculous edicts ,such as “denier” to many the future looks bleak.

Trump has managed to tap into the national angst with his hard hitting , straight talking New York approach . New York  , is really different . Its huge city , with vast financial resources and global responsibilities . New York is a city of conflict , where people come from all over the world to make their mark . Its the city of non stop hustle ,where people are there to “make money”  and the best and the brightest compete on a global scale on many levels. New York is where huge events  like the New York Marathon and the St Patricks day Parade are run by private organizations and huge museums like the MOMA or the MET are private non profits , where central park is maintained by not only the NY Parks Department but also the private Central Parks Conservatory . New York is a city were people get things done and that is always the priority. So Trump comes out of all this with his ego centric self promotional ways looking to leave his mark on a country that has lost its way . He channels the national angst , with a we can fix this New York common sense attitude and no amount of attacks by the powers that be seem to shake his conviction , that he is Rich and they (DC) are Stupid.

No he is no Libertarian , no conservative and no liberal . Donald Trump is a REAL New Yorker  and he has started the transition of from the age of Cowardice , to a new rebirth of America.  Perhaps he is much like Teddy Roosevelt  who many view as a “progressive” busting trusts and economic monopolies  ,now Trump will bust political monopolies of cowardice, failure , political correctness, insecurity and blatant stupidity.

Trump: ‘We have to take back the heart of our country’

-donald-trump-candidacy-speech-thridgewoodblog

By Philip Rucker and Robert Costa July 11 at 10:22 PM

PHOENIX — Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, whose caustic comments about Mexicans have inflamed the immigration debate, told thousands of cheering supporters here Saturday that “we have to take back the heart of our country.”

In a rambling, defiant speech delivered in this border state that has been the epicenter of the nation’s divisive battle over immigration reform, Trump declared: “These are people that shouldn’t be in our country. They flow in like water.” One man in the crowd of 4,200 shouted back, “Build a wall!”

Basking in polls that show he has risen to the top of the crowded Republican field, Trump took obvious glee in mocking former Florida governor Jeb Bush, the establishment favorite who is setting fundraising records.

“Jeb Bush, let’s say he’s president — Oy, yoy, yoy,” Trump said. He asked the crowd: “How can I be tied with this guy? He’s terrible. Terrible. He’s weak on immigration.”

Trump’s 70-minute address here, which sounded more like a stream-of-consciousness rant than a presidential-style stump speech, put an exclamation point on his bombastic push since his presidential announcement last month to return immigration to the forefront of the national conversation.

Trump’s illegal immigration rally the hottest ticket in Arizona

Donald Trump is holding a massive rally in Phoenix Saturday to take on illegal immigration — an event that generated so much interest that the campaign had to book a larger venue.

Trump will speak at the Phoenix Convention Center, after aides said demand for tickets exceeded space at the original venue, the Biltmore Resort and Spa.

“We received 4,000 RSVPS in 2¹/₂ hours,” said Trump campaign chairman Corey Lewandowski.

Trump has come under fire for his anti-Mexican comments made at his campaign launch last month.

Macy’s to Pay $650,000 to Resolve Bias Inquiry

By ALAN FEUERAUG. 20, 2014

After an 18-month investigation, Macy’s has agreed to pay a $650,000 fine and hire an independent monitor to address complaints that minority shoppers faced heightened surveillance and, in some cases, wrongful detention at its flagship store in Midtown Manhattan.

The investigation, conducted by the state attorney general’s office, reviewed the internal “loss prevention” procedures employed by Macy’s at its Herald Square store as well as allegations that black and Hispanic shoppers were unfairly targeted by security officials. The inquiry found that Macy’s “detained African-Americans, Hispanics and other minorities for allegedly shoplifting at significantly higher rates relative to whites,” a settlement agreement to be released on Wednesday said.

“This agreement will help ensure that no one is unfairly singled out as a suspected criminal when they shop in New York,” the attorney general, Eric T. Schneiderman, said in a statement set to accompany the release of the settlement document, which covers all 42 Macy’s stores in New York State.

The deal with Macy’s comes a week after Mr. Schneiderman’s office reached a similar one with Barneys New York, which agreed to pay $525,000 and institute a host of reforms aimed at addressing allegations of racial profiling at its Madison Avenue store.

The Macy’s investigation included a review of complaints since 2007 from 18 minority shoppers who claimed they had been improperly detained at the Herald Square store. Among those who complained were a black woman confronted by security workers while riding an escalator with merchandise openly draped over her arm, and a black man in the store to exchange goods.

Man arrested in connection with San Francisco killing had been deported several times, officials say

killer

By Judson Berger

Published July 04, 2015
FoxNews.com

The man arrested in connection with the seemingly random killing of a woman who was out for a stroll with her father along the San Francisco waterfront is an illegal immigrant who previously had been deported five times, federal immigration officials say.

Further, Immigration and Customs Enforcement says San Francisco had him in their custody earlier this year but failed to notify ICE when he was released.

“DHS records indicate ICE lodged an immigration detainer on the subject at that time, requesting notification prior to his release so ICE officers could make arrangements to take custody. The detainer was not honored,” ICE said in a statement Friday afternoon.

Kathryn Steinle was killed Wednesday evening at Pier 14 — one of the busiest tourist destinations in the city.

Police said Thursday they arrested Francisco Sanchez in the shooting an hour after it occurred.

On Friday, ICE revealed their records indicate the individual has been previously deported five times, most recently in 2009, and is from Mexico.

Donald Trump’s statement about NBC hits ‘lying’ Brian Williams

After NBCUniversal severed its relationships with Donald Trump on Monday, the billionaire businessman and presidential candidate responded by invoking suspended NBC anchorman Brian Williams and threatening to meet NBC in court.

Here is Trump’s statement: “As of today, Donald J. Trump is no longer affiliated with NBC. Mr. Trump stands by his statements on illegal immigration, which are accurate. NBC is weak, and like everybody else is trying to be politically correct— that is why our country is in serious trouble.

Stop pretending — Donald Trump is not running for president

NRA Holds Its Annual Meeting In Nashville

By Kyle Smith

May 30, 2015 | 2:05pm

Big news coming from Donald Trump. Big. Uuuuge. I have the news before anyone else. Donald Trump is running for president.

When Trump declared to the Republican Party of Iowa’s Lincoln Dinner that he is going to make an announcement in June that’s “going to surprise a lot of people,” he wasn’t preparing to launch his long-awaited candidacy. He was simply doing what he always does: Promote the Donald. Generate headlines. Get people talking.

His June announcement is guaranteed to raise all of the excitement of such previous bids for publicity as “Donald Trump Announces Men’s Fragrance” (March 24), “Donald Trump Announces Phil Mickelson Villa at Trump National Doral” (March 5), “Donald Trump Announces Florida International University as new Home for Miss Universe” (Dec. 11) and the game-changing, envelope-pushing, earth’s-orbit-reversing, “Donald Trump Announces Partnership with Prestwick Airport” (Nov. 14).
