Did You Feel It Again? Second Earthquake Shakes Bergen County in Just Three Days

Hillsdale NJ, for the second time in less than a week, northern New Jersey residents felt the ground rumble — and social media once again lit up with the question: “Was that another earthquake?”

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) confirmed a magnitude 2.7 earthquake struck at 12:11 p.m. on Tuesday, with its epicenter located just southwest of Hillsdale in Bergen County. The quake originated approximately 3–6 miles underground, shallow enough to be felt across nearby towns and even parts of New York City.

Mild Earthquake Hits Just North of Bergen County

Ridgewood NJ, did you feel it? A 2.2 magnitude earthquake was confirmed around the Hastings-On-Hudson and Yonkers area around 2 a.m., according to the United States Geological Survey. A 2.2 earthquake is considered mild .

Tremors felt in parts of the northeastern U.S. on Thursday, including New York’s Long Island area and southern New Jersey, were the result of a series of sonic booms, a regional seismologist said.

Ridgewood NJ, according to state officials an unusual and very mild earthquake struck in New Jersey on Saturday. The 2.1-magnitude quake with its epicenter in Ringwood, New Jersey, came at 12:58 a.m., according to the United States Geological Survey.

According to various police departments the earthquake could be felt in Sloatsburg and Suffern. There was no reported damage to people or property, according to Ringwood police and no reports in Ridgewood , Glen Rock , Paramus , Ho Ho Kus or Saddle River as far as we know .

According to Gary, Barbara and Collin,all residents of Ringwood who own and run the Tobacco Shop of Ridgewood & Davidoff Lounge , “they were asleep and didn’t feel a thing.”
