HAWTHORNE, NJ — A sudden infrastructure failure disrupted the Monday afternoon commute for several northern New Jersey residents. Early in the afternoon on Monday, July 13, 2026, a utility pole outfitted with live electrical wires and street lighting fixtures unexpectedly collapsed directly into the NJ Transit Hawthorne train station commuter parking lot.
