Ridgewood NJ, during the summer on July 24, 2020, Mr. Matthew Lindenberg and his son, Michael, walked into the police department with Michael Lindenberg holding a $10 bill. Michael explained that he had found the money outside on the ground and that he, and his father, believed the right thing to do was to turn it in to the police and see if anyone was going to claim it. Ridgewood Police Sgt. Finch, who was at the front desk, explained that we would log it in as found property, in the hopes of the owner coming forward. Sgt. Finch also explained that if no one came forward after six months, that Michael would be able to come back in and claim it for himself.
