NEWARK NJ, An Indian national removed by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) for immigration violations and turned over to Indian authorities is wanted in his home country on attempted murder, criminal conspiracy, extortion, forgery, cheating, theft, abetment use and possession of illegal firearms, and transmission of information by using the internet to form an organized crime syndicate.
Ubaidullah Abdulrashid Radiowala, also known as Obed Radiowala, entered the U.S. illegally. ERO Newark arrested Radiowala on Sept. 20, 2017 in Iselin, New Jersey, and he was later ordered removed to India by an immigration judge. The Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) dismissed his appeal. He was held in detention by ERO Newark until his removal on April 1, 2019.“This individual’s long list of criminal charges in his home country, including attempted murder, show that he was a danger to the community here in the U.S.,” said John Tsoukaris, field office director, ERO Newark. “The courageous and targeted efforts of our officers show our ongoing commitment to public safety.”
Jersey City NJ, The suspect accused of killing a jogger in a Jersey City park is from Honduras and is illegally in the U.S . It is being reported that he has been deported twice before in 2003 and 2004, according to Immigration and Customs Enforcement.Jorge Rios, 33, was arrested and charged with her killing at Lincoln Park and is currently in the Hudson County jail and will face a judge Thursday.

Trenton NJ, As part of its FY 2020 budget testimony before the Legislature today, the New Jersey Business & Industry Association has released an analysis finding that New Jersey once again has the least competitive business climate in the region with the highest corporate income tax, sales tax, income tax and property taxes. NJBIA’s 2019 Regional Business Climate report shows New Jersey’s positioning declining even further beyond last year’s last-place result due to increased taxes in 2018.

“The decision by legislative leaders to cancel today’s planned votes on marijuana legalization is reflective of the significant concerns that exist among both Republicans and Democrats with current proposals.

“While we are all disappointed that we did not secure enough votes to ensure legislative approval of the adult use cannabis bill today, we made substantial progress on a plan that would make significant changes in social policy.”
Sen. Paul Sarlo emerged from the Senate Majority conference room a few minutes ago and was swiftly surrounded by the assembled press.
Finally, as he walked away, he said, “I haven’t changed my mind.”
Sarlo of Bergen County is believed to be a “no” vote.
Trenton NJ, Sen. Declan O’Scanlon (R-Monmouth) released the following statement on Governor Murphy’s “shocking failure” to live up to his own minimum wage promise, noting that the proposed budget fails to provide the essential funding called for by the Governor:
“Just a month ago the Governor patted himself on the back as he signed the minimum wage increase bill. During today’s Senate Budget hearing, we learned that incredibly, while he was preparing this budget, the Governor failed to provide the very funding necessary to meet the increased spending obligations triggered by his new minimum wage policy,” O’Scanlon said.

Ridgewood NJ, Tax incentive programs are a key tool in New Jersey’s economic development strategy because they help to offset the impact of the state’s challenging business climate, and they need to be maintained if the state is going to continue to produce private-sector jobs, the New Jersey Business & Industry Association said today.
Andrew Musick, NJBIA vice president for Government Affairs, told legislators that the Garden State’s high tax rates put it at a competitive disadvantage in the region, as well as the nation. Without a robust incentive program to offset them, New Jersey would find it difficult to attract companies that provide quality employment opportunities for New Jersey residents.
Washington DC, House Democrats voted Friday to defend localities that allow illegal immigrants to vote in their elections, turning back a GOP attempt to discourage the practice.The vote marks a stunning reversal from just six months ago, when the then GOP controlled chamber voted against illegal immigrant voting.
The 228-197 vote came as part of a broader debate on Democrats’ major legislative priority this year, HR 1, the “For the People Act,” which includes historic expansions of voter registration and access to illegal aliens , as well as a major rewrite of campaign finance laws. The measure however will have had no practical effect even if it had passed. Illegal immigrants and indeed noncitizens as a whole are not legally able to participate in federal elections.
Ridgewood NJ, To protect the safety of lucky New Jerseyans who win the lottery, Assemblyman John Burzichelli sponsored legislation allowing for winners of the State Lottery to remain anonymous. The bill cleared the Assembly Tourism, Gaming and the Arts Committee Thursday.
“While winning the lottery is a dream come true for those lucky individuals who are able to call themselves winners, they are sometimes hounded and harassed as a result of their newfound wealth and fame,” said Burzichelli (D-Cumberland, Gloucester, Salem). “In some cases, lottery prizes have resulted in winners being robbed and even killed, such as in places like Chicago, Georgia and West Virginia. If a lottery winner wishes to remain anonymous, they should have the right to not have their information publicly distributed.”

Gov. Phil Murphy’s second annual budget message to a joint session of the state Legislature this week outlined his plans to raise taxes, unnecessarily, yet again.
Absent from his message was any mention of support for “Path to Progress” reforms recommended by the Legislature’s bipartisan Economic and Fiscal Policy Workgroup, which have the potential to significantly lower the cost of New Jersey’s many layers of government.
That absence was especially noticeable considering Murphy’s prior chairmanship of the Benefits Review Task Force under Acting Gov. Richard Codey. The task force, under Murphy’s leadership, examined the state’s significant fiscal challenges and proposed bold reforms.
