Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood PBA Local 20 we look back at the tragic events of 9/11/2001, we remind ourselves and everyone that 9/10/2001 was a beautiful day. Our brave men and women went to work like any other to protect us all, for some it was their last shift they’d ever work. We Cant and will never forget that day and we will never forget the sacrifices that were made. In their honor, we choose to remember to be ever vigilant and not to forget that it is always calm before the storm.
Ridgewood NJ, NJ State Trooper Evan Curtiss, a Ridgewood High School graduate and a member of Ridgewood Emergency Services, was the pilot of a NJ State Police helicopter that made a “surprise” landing behind Ridgewood Police headquarters late Wednesday morning, 8/15. Trooper Curtiss had been contacted by Ridgewood PBA Local 20 and asked if he could obtain permission fly a police helicopter into Ridgewood in order that Cole McKeon, son of Ridgewood Patrol Officer Kevin McKeon, could see a helicopter up close. Cole is currently under going treatment for Stage 4 cancer, but was able to attend today’s event and was thrilled by what he was able to see and touch.
Ridgewood NJ, the continued bogus nepotism attacks on the Mayors sons are doing nothing but undermining the authority of both the Ridgewood Police Department and Ridgewood Fire Department . Ridgewood is a state of New Jersey Civil Service municipality, candidates are ranked based on standardized test results ,dispersions to the contrary are nothing more than attacks on members of Ridgewood PBA Local 20 and Ridgewood Professional Firefighters FMBA Local 47.
According to the “Bergen Record” Councilman Jeff Voigt wondered how a fire chief or police chief would be able to properly supervise the mayor’s kids, even if she is not directly involved in overseeing the department. It raises thorny issues, he said. And again letting Voigt make fallacious assertions , “That puts them in an uncomfortable situation,” he said. “They [the kids] may even get preferential treatment.”
So Jeff Voigt , Rurik Halaby, Don Delzio, Janice Willett, Alexandra Harwin and the rest of their band of misfits followers all think the Ridgewood Police and the Ridgewood Fire Department are failing to adequately protect the public?
And In effect saying that the Chief of Police Jacqueline Luthcke and Fire Chief James Van Goor can not properly supervise their staff?
Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood PBA local 20 was proud to honor one of its members, Officer Christopher Mormino, at the 200 Club of Bergen County’s Annual Valor Awards. A special thank you is in order for Officer Mormino’s Distinguished Service and the 200 Club of Bergen County for it’s recognition of that service.

Ridgewood NJ, on August 28 the Ridgewood PBA Local 20 and FMBA Local 47 joined forces to donate a new bicycle to gracious young resident. Jaden was heartbroken to find that his bicycle, which… had been given to him by the FMBA, had been stolen and was unable to be recovered. Members of the FMBA and PBA we’re not satisfied with that outcome and decided to purchase a replacement bicycle for Jaden. He was asked to do three things in return, always lock up his new bike, always wear his helmet and to show his appreciation by doing something kind for someone else. After meeting with Jaden and seeing his appreciation, we have no doubt that he will pay our kindness forward.
