The mansion sold in just over one month on the real estate market.

The grand stone mansion, located at 1 Scheffler Drive in the borough, was listed on July 2, under contract by July 27, and the sale closed on August 5.

Housing Data Shows Home Prices are Heating Up

Ridgewood NJ, The first month of summer brought higher prices and declining inventory according to the Q2 housing data recently released by New Jersey Realtors.

As predicted and expected, the Federal Reserve did not change its target range for the federal funds rate in their June meeting. However, there is a possibility of a rate reduction within 2019, likely the result of continued increases over the past few years.

Two Bergen County Men Admit Roles in Real-Estate Short Sale Fraud Scheme

Norwood NJ, Two Bergen County, New Jersey, men have admitted their respective roles in a scheme to defraud financial institutions and others, U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito announced today.

Steve Young Kang, a/k/a “Steven Young Kang” and “Young Tae Kang,” 64, of Ridgefield, New Jersey, and Young Jin Son, a/k/a “Joshua Son,” 49, of Norwood, New Jersey, pleaded guilty on May 30, 2019, before U.S. District Judge William J. Martini in Newark federal court to separate informations charging each defendant with one count of bank fraud and one count of wire fraud.

DOJ Charges East Orange, Title Agent With Money Laundering

East Orange NJ, An East Orange, New Jersey, man was charged today with conspiring to transact in criminal proceeds involving $2.36 million in funds obtained through a business email scheme, U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito announced.

Samora Patterson, 40, is charged by complaint with one count of conspiring to transact in criminal proceeds. He is scheduled to make his initial appearance this afternoon before U.S. Magistrate Judge Steven C. Mannion in Newark federal court.

According to the complaint:

In March 2015, three related real estate companies entered into a multi-million dollar transaction to sell certain commercial real estate properties. “Title Company A” was the closing agent for the transaction.
