Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Recreation is pleased to offer the following special events during the February school break.

Here are the  details:

SCIENCE TELLERS – Tall Ships and Pirate Tales (geared for elementary students Grades K-5)
Set sail with us on a thrilling adventure about a crew of quirky pirates marooned on a deserted island. They must rescue their salty captain and find a way to construct a ship before all hope is lost. Fun audience participation with incredible science experiments.
Grades K-5, Friday, February 16th, 11:30 am, The Anne Zusy Youth Center, Village Hall, 131 N. Maple Avenue, Ridgewood, $5 admission (adult supervision required)
ScienceTellers Tall Ships and Pirate Tales – details and registration form

WINTERFEST CELEBRATION WITH HEALTHBARN USA
Creative winter crafts, healthy cooking creations, and fun winter activities.
Grade K-5, Friday, February 16th, 9:30 am to 12 noon, at the Gatehouse, Irene Habernickel Family Park, Ridgewood, $30 (non-residents $40)
2018 WinterFest Celebration – details and registration form

PAINT IT! SLIME IT! WITH ABRAKADOODLE – a fun morning of creating messy creations, including SLIME, inspired by American artist Steven Kleindorfer known for using swooping patterns of vibrant colors and shapes.
Grades K-4, Tuesday, February 20th, 10 am to 12:30 pm, at the Stable, 259 N. Maple Avenue, Ridgewood, $55 includes all materials (non-residents $65)

FALL PROGRAMS WITH RIDGEWOOD RECREATION

Register now for fall offerings with Ridgewood Parks and Recreation. There is something for everyone!

Pre-school – Abrakadoodle’s My First Art and Mini Doodler, Happy Feet Dance Introduction, and US Sports Institute’s Sport Squirts and T-Ball.

Elementary – Education Explorer’s Dramatic Arts and Tech Titans, Explore Science’s Robots & Simple Machines, Acrylics, Drawing, Abrakadoodle “Scape” Artist and sports include Skateboarding, Golf, KidSafe Self Defense and Tennis.

Adults – Acrylics, Watercolors, Chinese Brush Painting, Tennis, Zumba, Toning, Silver Strength and Motion, Mindful Meditation, Men’s Fitness, Jazzercise, Chair Yoga, Yoga Fit, No Aches/No Pain – Arthritis Class, Bridge & Canasta and Learn to Crochet.

The Ridgewood Department of Parks and Recreation is pleased to offer winter programs for active senior adults at the Community Center, 131 North Maple Avenue, Ridgewood.

Don’t stay in; the senior bus runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Call 201-670-5500, ext 200 for details or to make reservations.

A variety of classes offered are as follows beginning the week of January 7, 2013:

Mondays Zumba 10:30 a.m.

Tuesdays Silver Strength & Motion 10 a.m.

Mindful Meditation 11 a.m.

Wednesdays For Men Only – Men’s Fitness 9:15 a.m.

The Art of Chinese Brush Painting 9:30 a.m.

Jazzercise 10:30 a.m.

Chair Yoga 11:30 a.m.

Fridays Silver Strength & Motion 10:30 a.m.

Each class is $24 for 6 sessions; priced for Ridgewood residents 55 and older. Registration may be open to others if space is available; additional fees will apply. Please let us know if special accommodations are needed for any program.

In addition, don’t miss our free Classic Movie Tuesday, sponsored by The Hobbyists Unlimited, the first Tuesday of each month, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
