Senator Declan O’Scanlon’s bill (S-601) would make the fiscal victimization of a senior or disabled person a crime

Trenton NJ, Senator Declan O’Scanlon’s legislation to protect vulnerable senior citizens and people with disabilities from theft scams passed the Senate Law and Public Safety Committee.

“Seniors have always been prime targets for criminals who prey on their trusting nature and easy demeanor,” said O’Scanlon (R-13). “As technology has developed, it has become easier to find victims and raid their life savings. This can be devastating for people living on fixed incomes.”

Legislation to Repeal the Religious Exemption for Mandatory Vaccines Fails

Trenton NJ, thousands descended on the state capitol ,honking horns, chanting “My GOD, My Choice,” “Vote No!”, “Kill the Bill”, “We Will Vote You Out”, intermittently reciting the LORD’s Prayer, displaying a giant American flag, with megaphones and placards, thousands of opponents of a Bill that mandated vaccinations without informed written parental consent, and that also eliminated religious exemptions, surrounded the New Jersey State House and Senate chambers until long after darkness fell. A new day in New Jersey! An army of Milennials, Generation Z, fighting for parental rights and freedom of religion, has arrived for such a time as this!i Let not the sun set on this movement heading in the “right” direction!

Governors Budget Address No Relief for the Middle Class

Trenton NJ, State Senator Joe Pennacchio (R-26) offered the following appraisal of Governor Phil Murphy’s 2020 budget address:

“Governor Murphy is trying to manage the budget with phantom numbers. This isn’t monopoly money. Governor: get your hands out of our pockets. Taxpayers have had enough and state spending is out of control.

“New Jersey has the worst business climate and the highest property taxes in the nation and these new taxes will push even more job creators out of state. Last year, Governor Murphy’s proposed tax hikes were so egregious, that even his fellow Democrats couldn’t stomach them. Nothing has changed. Don’t be surprised if the government shuts down.
