Wharton NJ, Motorists traveling through Wharton, New Jersey, are facing major delays as Interstate 80 is now closed in both directions due to the discovery of another sinkhole, local officials confirmed.
Wharton NJ, a large sinkhole has disrupted travel on Interstate 80 in Wharton, Morris County, forcing the closure of the eastbound lanes for emergency repairs. The closure, which began Thursday morning, is causing significant delays and rerouting traffic.
Monville NJ, an emergency sinkhole repair in Montville has led to the closure of several lanes on I-287 and Route 202, according to a traffic advisory issued by the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJ DOT).
Oradell NJ, Oradell Avenue has reopened in both directions, after a sinkhole had kept the eastbound side of the thoroughfare closed since the end of May. A sinkhole caused by a ruptured sewer line was first spotted on May 23 near the Oradell Street train station. According to Police ,there will be periodic maintenance this week during day time hours. Traffic will need to be altered so stay tuned for traffic updates.
Midland Park NJ, Midland Park Police, Ridgewood Police, and Wyckoff Police officers were dispatched to provide traffic control duties while construction crews worked to repair a potentially dangerous sinkhole on Lake Avenue in Midland Park that was identified on Thursday afternoon, 07/27. A crew performing a closed circuit television inspection on a sewer trunk line belonging to the Northwest Bergen Utilities Authority discovered a defect and immediately recommended that the roadway be closed. A repair crew supervisor told Ridgewood PD that work could take as long as 24 hours to complete. Lake Avenue is closed to motor vehicle traffic between Godwin Avenue in Ridgewood to Goffle Road in Wyckoff. A nearby lumber yard and supermarket located on Lake Avenue both remain accessible via alternate routes.
Midland Park NJ, A large sinkhole on Woodside Avenue in Midland Park almost swallowed a small Midland Park Department of Public Works truck whole, and caused major disruption to water, waste water, and natural gas services in sections of Midland Park and nearby Ridgewood. The were no injuries reported in the calamity
