Imposters At Your Door

If anyone comes to your door looking like, or claiming to be, a PSE&G employee, ask for ID. All PSE&G employees must carry ID and present it when requested. If you are not convinced, do not let the person in your house. Call us at 1-800-436-PSEG (7734). A Customer Service Representative will gladly verify if a technician has been dispatched to your location.

Things to know:

If the person at your door gives you a different phone number to verify his/her presence, do not call it. Only call 1-800-436-PSEG (7734). PSE&G will never send employees to your home or small business offering cash refunds on deposits or utility charges. We will only either credit your account or mail a check to your service address.

Shooting in Bogota Leaves One Dead

Bogota NJ, Acting Prosecutor Dennis Calo announces the following information:

The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, the Bogota Police Department, and other local agencies are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early this morning, December 12, 2018, in Bogota, NJ.  

At approximately 1:43 a.m., the Bogota Police Department received a 9-1-1 call of shots fired outside Buddy’s Bar, 13 East Fort Lee Road, Bogota, NJ.  Officers from the Bogota, Teaneck, and Ridgefield Park Police Departments responded to the scene, where they found a 28-year-old male on the front lawn of a nearby house, 286 Leonia Avenue, Bogota, suffering from a single gunshot wound.  The victim was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The suspects fled the scene.  The investigation is ongoing, and more information will be released at a later time.

Ridgewood NJ, Two women dressed as nuns  are charged with robbing a pair of New Jersey banks and also suspected of trying to rob a bank in Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains .

The Thelma and Louse pair are Nineteen-year-old Swahilys Pedraza-Rodriguez, of New Haven, Connecticut, and 23-year-old Melisa Aquino Arias, of the Dominican Republic .
The Garfield heist was Sept. 27. The Teaneck heist was Sunday, when the women were arrested.

Law enforcement officials say the women are also suspected in an attempted robbery of the Citizens Bank in Tannersville, Pennsylvania, on Aug. 28. Those robbers were dressed as nuns and ran away without money after an alarm was triggered.
