Former Head of Corporate Communications of New Jersey-based Biopharmaceutical Company Admits Insider Trading

Newark NJ, the former head of corporate communications for a biopharmaceutical company today admitted her role in an insider trading scheme, U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger announced.

Lauren S. Wood, 33, of Washington, D.C., pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge John Michael Vazquez to an information charging her with securities fraud. Stemming from the same alleged conduct, Usama Malik, also of Washington, D.C., was previously charged in a three-count indictment with insider trading, securities fraud, and securities fraud conspiracy.

New York Life Insurance Broker From Hillsdale Sentenced to 27 Months for Securities Fraud

Hillsdale NJ, A New York Life insurance broker was sentenced today to 27 months in prison for his role in a scheme to fraudulently use his association with the company to solicit investor money, Acting U.S. Attorney Rachael A. Honig announced.

Ivan Ramos, 39, of Hillside, New Jersey, previously pleaded guilty by videoconference before U.S. District Court Judge Claire C. Cecchi to an information charging him with one count of securities fraud. Judge Cecchi imposed the sentence by videoconference.
