  1. This is a result of the new non-precision GPS approach to Runway 19 at Teterboro.
As a result of political pressure from the snob elitists in who live in the apartments on prospect avenue in hackensack, this is what happens.
The airport was there long before the apartments were built, but they got the political hacks to force the new approach to be used, even though its a Non-precision approach which is not as accurate as the one previously in use (that gets used when weather determines the new ‘political approach’ wont work)
All of your elected Democrat officials in the towns near Teterboro had your US Senators and RepresentativeS (ALL Democrats) force the FAA to enact this.

  2. Yes, this is Teterboro bound traffic.

The winds determine the landing and take-off directions. Most of the time we get winds from the west so the planes will use the same approach over and over again.

  3. Hey Anonymous it’s not just the “elite snobs” as you put it it’s eve the North End The Fairmount section! You can’t have windows open on nice days or sit and enjoy your yard! There has been a horrendous increase in air traffic and it’s very disturbing even shaking our homes and the schools! As for your “the airport was there first” sorry my home was built way before the airport! The airport was built for WW2 to ship out airplane parts! So know what your talking about! And the airport was never supposed to be for commercial use but military usage!

  4. Logically the winds determine landing runway…BUT not at Teterboro..
Landing runway is determined by landing runway in use at NEWARK so there are no traffic conflicts in the event of missed approaches.

  5. @anon fairmont snob. try getting your facts straight. it began as an airport in 1919.
    History of Teterboro Airport
In 1917, Walter C. Teter acquired the property, with the airport first operating in 1919. During World War I, North American Aviation operated a manufacturing plant on the site.

The airport was there in the 20’s. It used to be a sheep meadow before that.

In the early 70’s, when it started to warm up in the spring, you could still smell the “sheep.”
