  1. How does that compare to last year or 5 years ago..?

    1. It’s slightly higher but attributable to significantly warmer ocean water temperatures spawning larger schools of fish closer to shore. Whales are coming in closer to shore to feed and dying by ship strike (blunt force trauma or propeller cut). I believe every whale that has washed up has shown signs of ship strikes (they are autopsied). NOAA, BOEM and the Marine Mammal Commission have reviewed these deaths and confirmed ship strikes. There is NO evidence linking offshore wind activities to whale deaths.

      1. That’s what I thought.

      2. Nice Straw Man.

There have NOT been Whales washing up on NJ shores in any sort of regular fashion over the last decade as they have been in the last year or so.

This coincides with the installation of the off-shore wind farm.

        Coincidence?
        I think not.

        1. Except that there are NO windfarms off of NJ. In fact, there are only two windfarms in existence with less than a dozen operations turbines (total)..

          Facts matter.

        2. Take a look at the numbers from the Marine Mammal Stranding Center. They will verify these facts. They have about 4 decades of records.ans associated autopsies…

          1. Why thumbs down? You don’t like facts presented from an independent, highly reputable non-profit environmental group?

So you don’t trust the energy companies, you don’t trust governmental agencies (NOAA, BOEM, NJDEP, EPA) and you don’t trust environmental groups?

            Who do you trust?

  2. greed and gross incompetence , blame it on climate change

    1. actually the response was based on facts. The ocean temps are easily measured and are warmer. There is a visible change in where the whales food is found and they are getting hit by ships propellers. Didn’t say the CC word.

  3. Yeah, but what pronouns do the whales go by?
