Ridgewood Nj, after two years its not getting any better , the “squirrel proof” $59k Garbage Cans for the central business district have proven not only over priced but poorly designed for the task at hand.
Once again we have a garbage problem throughout the Central Business District . Often leaving places like Van Neste parkΒ littered and the garbage cans overflowing.
While Ridgewood resident Tony Loving said in a Facebook post, “I hope trash pickups were not deliberately reduced to help bolster support for the Village Councilβs desire to establish a Special Improvement District, an area in which property owners will be subject to additional assessments to provide enhanced services.”
Apparently the new squirrel proof garbage cans that were purchased at great cost and much fanfare have become an epic fail.
