Ridgewood NJ, Yesterday was an unforgettable, emotional day for the community at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Ridgewood, New Jersey. Parishioners gathered to celebrate, reflect, and give thanks for a spectacular 29 years of growing together and sharing in God’s abundance and love alongside our wonderful pastor, Rev. Msgr. Ronald J. Rozniak (affectionately known to all as Fr. Ron), who has officially retired.
But his legacy isn’t just staying inside the church walls—it is now permanently etched into the very map of Ridgewood!
In a beautiful tribute to nearly three decades of unwavering faith, leadership, and profound ministry, a section of Passaic Street has been officially co-named “FR. RON’S WAY.

Whether you are walking to Mass or driving through Bergen County, you can find the newly installed honorary street signs at two key intersections in town:

These signs serve as a daily, lasting reminder of Fr. Ron’s incredible footprint on the Ridgewood community and the countless lives he has touched over his 29 years of selfless service.

With all due respect and appreciation for Fr. Ron and his long years of faithful service to the OLMC parish, retirement-related events not related to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass should not be held in the nave.
If Fr. Ron was aware in advance of a plan by the laity to bestow secular gifts upon him while he was standing in the sanctuary, literally handing them to him over top of the altar rail, he ought to have politely declined and redirected the plans.
Obviously you know NOTHING about Fr. Ron. Do yourself a favor and read what he wrote in the bulletin. By the way, the Mass was over when he received the unexpected gifts.
