Obama’s Amnesty Will Add As Many Foreign Workers As New Jobs Since 2009
10:37 AM 11/20/2014

President Barack Obama’s unilateral amnesty will quickly add as many foreign workers to the nation’s legal labor force as the total number of new jobs created by his economy since 2009.

The plans, expected to be announced late Nov. 20, will distribute five million work permits to illegal immigrants, and also create a new inflow of foreign college graduates for prestigious salaried jobs, according to press reports.

Obama has already provided or promised almost one million extra work permits to foreigners, while his economy has only added six million jobs since 2009.

Under the president’s new amnesty plan, “up to four million undocumented immigrants who have lived in the United States for at least five years can apply. … An additional one million people will get protection from deportation through other parts of the president’s plan,” according to a Nov. 19 report in The New York Times.

The five million total was attributed to “people briefed on his plans,” the Times reports.

The five million work permits will add to Obama’s prior giveaways, which have provided work permits to almost one million foreigners.

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP — A teenage boy canvassing a Hampshire Road home early this morning, possibly to steal a Porsche parked in its open garage, sparked a foot chase through the woods and a high-speed car pursuit along the Garden State Parkway, authorities said.

The chases ended with one stolen car recovered and the teenager’s arrest, but another car was stolen and a second man escaped, Washington Township police Chief Glenn Hooper said.

The boy, believed to be 15 or 16 years old, is in police custody and charges are pending, Hooper said. He did not have identification on him and is not cooperating with authorities.

The incident began around 2:15 a.m. when a police officer saw the teenager walking around the home, Hooper said. The boy noticed the police car and started walking away, then ran down a side street.

Another man jumped out of a Mercedes Benz — which police later determined had been stolen out of the township a month ago — and they both ran into the woods. Officers from Paramus, Ridgewood, Ho-Ho-Kus, Hillsdale and Upper Saddle River and a Bergen County Sheriff’s Department K-9 unit joined the search, but didn’t find anyone and called it off before 5 a.m.

While they were in the woods, Washington Township police received a call about a Jaguar stolen out of a driveway on Jackson Avenue, Hooper said. The key fob had been left in the car.

Going to court in N.J. just got more expensive

“Yes, those ballot questions do cost you more now….. Legislation implementing those changes also loosens bail rules for low-risk offenders who aren’t deemed likely to pose a flight or safety risk. (or so they say??? ) That will require new staffers, electronic monitoring, drug testing and treatment services that legislative budget analysts say will cost around $35 million a year” Michelle Talamo

TRENTON  — Filing a lawsuit, seeking a divorce and obtaining gun permits are now more expensive in New Jersey.

The state judiciary has hiked roughly 80 of its fees, with the extra cost to court users projected at more than $42 million a year. The higher fees formally take effect Monday, but started with court papers filed electronically after 4:30 p.m. Friday.

The money will be used for three purposes, including the creation of a new system for assessing defendants’ bail status to implement changes state voters approved last week.

“While no one wants to pay more money for government services, the reality is that additional funding is needed to support these important changes,” Appellate Judge Glenn Grant, acting administrative director of the courts, told the Asbury Park Press.

Judiciary officials dialed back a few of the increases originally proposed in September.

Reader says We all know that the NJ transportation fund is a black hole of graft an corruption

We all know that the transportation fund is a black hole of graft an corruption. Why else do the unions want it fully funded? Also gotta love how Senate Budget Committee Chairman Paul Sarlo sees no alternative other than raising the gas tax, but then in the next breath he proposes lowering or doing away with taxes on pension benefits!!! How are the two related you ask? Good question, but probably too difficult for our union hacks to answer because they love riding this gravy train.

Reader says Some really bad decisions are being made because the town is looking for a buck

I do think that is a factor right now. Think about it, the ridiculous bike lane was done bc the town received outside money , a study is being funded by the freeholders (not the town) to study parking, Blais said at the meeting the other night that no independent studies have been/would be conducted on housing bc we don’t have 100k to spend, etc, and they want developers to take over so they can fund traffic improvements that we can’t. Some really bad decisions are being made bc the town is looking for a buck.

Reader says When the developers financial interests matter more than the increased burden on residents they are no longer representing our best interests

Our government should absolutely be representing our best interests, and repealing the proposition that lead to the multi-family housing and Valley expansion fiascos would be a great start. When the developers financial interests matter more than the increased burden on residents they are no longer representing our best interests. If I owned a 3 bedroom home right now in need of any updating, I would be very worried about my home value decreasing too ( all values might go down a bit but that would seem the hardest hit).

Reader asks an increase of 300-500 new residential units how might affect Village Services ,Schools ,Water ,Recreation and so on

To ask them how an increase of 300-500 new residential units might affect their dept. Would they need to hire more staff? Would they need more equipment? What might these additions cost? Can our parks, both passive & recreational. handle more residents effectively? Would we need additional water treatment facilities? Would we have to float another bond to expand our schools? Would we need to hire more teachers? All of these departments are impacted by a potential increase of 300-500 apartments. Sure, our downtown would get more foot traffic, but we should also be researching how it will affect the village as a whole. That’s why you need reports.

President Obama to announce executive action on immigration Thursday

By Juliet Eilperin and Ed O’Keefe

President Obama will announce Thursday that he will use his executive authority to expand temporary protections to millions of undocumented immigrants, according to several individuals who have been briefed on the decision. Obama will travel to Las Vegas on the heels of that announcement to rally support for his initiative on Friday.

Congress will receive official details on the move Thursday, according to a senior Democratic Party official.

Even before final confirmation of the president’s plans, outside advocates began readying events to promote the administration’s immigration policy.

“We hear there will be a prime time Thursday evening announcement (to preview) and full unveiling in Vegas on Friday,” immigration advocate Dawn Le wrote in an email to other activists, which was later inadvertently sent to a group of reporters Wednesday morning. “Can folks begin to work and plan watch parties for Thursday and/or Friday? Unclear whether Thursday night content will be what is “celebratory”, but Friday will be where we need a lot of energy guaranteed.”

Robert Grady, one of Governor Christie’s closest advisers, resigned Wedneday as chairman of the council that oversees the state’s $80 billion public employee pension fund.

Grady, who commutes monthly from his home in Wyoming to New Jersey to participate on the board, announced his departure at the State Investment Council meeting.

Tom Byrne, the board’s vice chairman, said Grady told the fellow board members that he had only intended to serve through Christie’s first term but remained on after the director of Treasury’s Division of Investment resigned last year. Byrne said Grady wanted to make sure there was a thorough search for a new director and a smooth transition. Christopher McDonough was hired to replace the prior director, Timothy Walsh, in March.

Grady also told board members that he would like to spend more time at home and help care for a sick relative.

Governor Christie, attending the Republican Governors Association meeting in Florida, said he asked Grady to stay on when he told him he wanted to step down at the end of the governor’s first term.

“I don’t him he couldn’t,” Christie said in Florida. “I’m going to miss him in that role. He did five years of service traveling every month from Wyoming to come and do it, so it was a lot of time for him to spend in New Jersey away from his family and so he wanted to move on and I was happy for him to do it.”

RIDGEWOOD — A 55-year-old village man is accused of pulling a knife on two police officers and cutting them Tuesday afternoon after he agreed to be taken to the hospital for a psychiatric evaluation, authorities said.

James Brown is being held at the Bergen Regional Medical Center in lieu of $50,000 bail, Ridgewood police Detective Chris McDowell said.

A maintenance worker at Brown’s Chestnut Street home called police around 2 p.m. after a dispute with Brown, McDowell said. Officers determined Brown needed to be taken to the hospital and he cooperated with them at first.

Then he pulled out a knife about the size of a Swiss Army knife, McDowell said. They struggled and subdued him after being cut.

Dems press Obama to wait on immigration

President Obama has a tough decision to make on the timing of an executive order to freeze deportations of illegal immigrants.

Senate Democrats want him to wait to give them time to pass an omnibus spending bill and other legislative priorities in the lame-duck session that is just now ramping up.

But delaying the action, even for a few weeks, could make Obama look weak and inflame immigration advocates who are already furious with him for holding back until after the midterm elections.

“You have growing anxiety amongst the immigrant community that’s losing faith that the president is going to do as he said he would do,” said Brent Wilkes, national executive director of the League of United Latin American Citizens. “I really think he’ll lose support from the Latino community if he continues to wait.”

Complicating the situation further, Obama is being asked to do a favor for Democratic lawmakers at a time when they are casting blame on him for the party’s disastrous showing at the ballot box.

FBI Warns Ferguson Decision ‘Will Likely’ Lead to Violence By Extremists Protesters

Nov 17, 2014, 6:34 PM ET
By MIKE LEVINE, PIERRE THOMAS, JACK DATE and JACK CLOHERTY

As the nation waits to hear whether a Missouri police officer will face charges for killing unarmed teenager Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo., the FBI is warning law enforcement agencies across the country that the decision “will likely” lead some extremist protesters to threaten and even attack police officers or federal agents.

Peaceful protesters could be caught in the middle, and electrical facilities or water treatment plants could also become targets. In addition, so-called “hacktivists” like the group “Anonymous” could try to launch cyber-attacks against authorities.

“The announcement of the grand jury’s decision … will likely be exploited by some individuals to justify threats and attacks against law enforcement and critical infrastructure,” the FBI says in an intelligence bulletin issued in recent days. “This also poses a threat to those civilians engaged in lawful or otherwise constitutionally protected activities.”
