Ridgewood NJ, Plans to finance construction of a parking garage using revenues from a proposed ground lease of the Village owned “Gilsenan/Gap” property appear to have come to a halt.
Although three (3) firms had “pre-registered,” no proposals to lease the “Gilsenan/Gap” property, and construct a retail building thereupon, were received during Thursday morning’s scheduled proposal opening.
Village Council members will likely discuss next steps, including a possible re-advertisement for proposals, during their upcoming September 11 Public Work Session.
Maybe….just maybe…..this means the project doesn’t work as proposed.
Why just lease the property and then be told how to design and build a desirable building with stores and parking ….??????????
Why not just sell the property and be done with it?
Too many cooks in the kitchen (Aronsohn and his Chamber buddies) spoil the stew.
Maybe Aronsohn and his Chamber buddies will get the Village of Ridgewood taxpayers to build a building and lease it so they get their parking garage also at taxpayers cost.
Pipe dreams.
This town is selling out.
This is hilarious. Tom Hillman and Paul Vagianos were DEAD CERTAIN that people would be climbing all over each other to get their bids in on this can’t-fail deal. WRONG
