Ridgewood NJ, An adult female was transported by ambulance to The Valley Hospital with non-life threatening injuries sustained after being struck by a motor vehicle in front of 505 Goffle Road, Ridgewood on Thursday evening, 11/10. Ridgewood PD, FD, and EMS units responded to aid the victim. Traffic control assistance was provided by Midland Park and Wyckoff PD units. The driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene and was cooperating with police. It did not appear that the victim was in a marked crosswalk at the time she was struck.
More surprised this does not happen on Broad st. or Ridgewood ave.
I was leaving Goffle Road Poultry Farm (sign is shown in top photo) at around 5:30 and thought I saw several people standing nearly in the street just opposite the exit. I drove home wondering why they were there and nearly shaking at how easily I could have hit them. Turning left onto Goffle Road out of that driveway at rush hour isn’t easy, and you don’t expect people to be in the road. I wonder if this was related.
Much of that stretch of Goffle in Rwood does not have sidewalks….so it is amazing that it doesn’t happen more often.
