Leonia NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of JOSE A. ROSA-VASQUEZ (DOB: 5/15/1991; married; car technician) of 36 East Broad Street, Hazleton, Pennsylvania on a money laundering offense. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love.

On October 3, 2022, an investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotic Task Force revealed that JOSE ROSA-VASQUEZ was transporting bulk U.S currency believed to be from narcotics sales through Bergen County. During this investigation, a search was conducted on his vehicle in Leonia, NJ which revealed a sophisticated, electronically operated hidden compartment containing numerous bundles of money totaling $80,945.00. ROSA-VASQUEZ was arrested at the scene of the search.

JOSA ROSA-VASQUEZ was charged with second-degree money laundering, N.J.S.A. 2C:21-25a and was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ.

Prosecutor Mark Musella states that the charge is merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
