Montvale NJ, yesterday in Montvale, severe weather conditions caused a significant disruption near the railroad tracks. If you were in the area, you might have noticed a sudden power outage that left many residents and businesses in the dark. The cause of the outage appeared to be a lightning strike, although this has not yet been confirmed.
Despite the challenging conditions, Orange & Rockland Utilities responded swiftly and efficiently. The linemen, known for their dedication regardless of the weather, managed to repair the burning electric wires in an impressively short time. Within minutes of the outage, four utility trucks arrived on the scene, and the power line was fixed in less than 15 minutes. This rapid response restored power to the area, much to the relief of the local community.
The severe weather also caused a NJ Transit train to get stuck on the tracks and led to flooding at Kinderkamack Road and Railroad Avenue. However, thanks to the coordinated efforts of the Montvale Police and Fire Departments, the situation was managed effectively. Kinderkamack Road was soon reopened, and the power was restored.
Montvale Mayor Mike Ghassali was also present at the scene, ensuring that the response was well-coordinated and that the needs of the community were being met. The quick and effective actions of all involved, particularly the Orange & Rockland Utilities team, were commendable and helped to mitigate the impact of the inclement weather on Montvale.
Kudos to Our Linemen and First Responders
The dedication and professionalism displayed by the Orange & Rockland Utilities linemen, the Montvale Police, and the Fire Departments highlight the resilience and readiness of our community’s emergency responders. Their ability to handle such incidents promptly and efficiently is a testament to their training and commitment to public safety.
The next time you see a utility worker or first responder, remember the crucial role they play in keeping our community safe, especially during challenging weather conditions. Their hard work often goes unnoticed, but it’s moments like these that remind us of their importance.
