Washington DC, in a controversial decision, President Joe Biden issued blanket preemptive pardons on Monday for several prominent individuals believed to be potential targets of incoming President-elect Donald Trump. This extraordinary measure aims to shield key public figures, including Dr. Anthony Fauci, retired Gen. Mark Milley, and lawmakers from the January 6th investigation, from possible politically motivated prosecutions under Trump’s administration.
Biden Defends Pardons as a Stand for Justice
“These public servants have served our nation with honor and distinction and do not deserve to be the targets of unjustified and politically motivated prosecutions,” Biden stated. He emphasized that such investigations could irreparably harm reputations, finances, and the safety of individuals and their families, even when no wrongdoing has occurred.
Who Received Pardons?
Among those pardoned were:
- Dr. Anthony Fauci, former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, frequently targeted for his role during the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Gen. Mark Milley, former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, who faced accusations of treason from Trump over his efforts to avoid conflict with China.
- Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.), Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.), and Sen. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), all prominent figures in the January 6th Congressional investigation.
Biden also included staffers, police witnesses, and others involved in the investigation in his sweeping pardon.
The Political Backdrop
President-elect Trump has repeatedly vowed “retribution” against his political enemies, sparking fears of politically driven prosecutions. Trump’s rhetoric against these figures includes:
- Accusing Dr. Fauci of mishandling the pandemic and promoting conspiracy theories about COVID-19 origins.
- Suggesting that Gen. Milley’s actions were “treasonous” and calling for severe punishment.
- Declaring members of the January 6th committee, including Cheney and Schiff, should face imprisonment for investigating his role in the Capitol riot.
A History of Tensions
- Dr. Anthony Fauci: Fauci has faced relentless attacks from Republican lawmakers for his pandemic policies, including accusations of funding controversial research. Despite threats and harassment, Fauci consistently denied any wrongdoing and defended his public health decisions.
- Gen. Mark Milley: Milley defended his controversial calls to Chinese counterparts as necessary to prevent military conflict, emphasizing his oath to the Constitution rather than any individual leader.
- Rep. Liz Cheney: As a vocal critic of Trump and a leader on the January 6th committee, Cheney has endured intense backlash, with Trump accusing her of betraying the Republican Party.
Legal and Political Implications
The preemptive pardons mark a significant departure from traditional pardon practices, raising concerns among legal experts about the precedent this may set. Accepting a pardon typically implies an admission of guilt, but Biden’s move aims to prevent the potential misuse of prosecutorial powers.
Democratic leaders have supported the decision, citing Trump’s history of threatening his adversaries and his recent nomination of Kash Patel as FBI director, signaling a possible shift in federal investigations. Critics, however, warn that such actions could blur legal boundaries and invite future abuse of presidential pardon power.
Conclusion
While the pardons aim to protect public servants from potential retribution, they also raise complex legal and ethical questions. As the nation watches Trump’s next moves, the balance between justice and political accountability remains a critical issue for the country’s democratic principles.

This is a complete covering their and Biden’s asses from complete wrong doing. They will get theirs, somehow.
No, this is what is called theater.
For reference, according to Black’s, a pardon is: The act or an instance of officially nullifying punishment or other legal consequences of a crime.
You cannot preemptively pardon someone for a crime they haven’t been charged with. Pardon them for what, for everything and for all eternity?
It’s this simple. If Trump wants to go after Fauci, et al. he can just ignore these BS preemptive pardons. There’s no legal basis for them whatsoever. And if he doesn’t go after them because he says his hands are tied with this nonsensical BS, then he was never serious about going after them in the first place.
Dr. Fauci did nothing wrong.
She was another puppet
Barry and Susan Rice are skunks.
Criminals…
I hope he issues a preemptive pardon for the “Father of the Vaccine.”
